Industrial Dehumidification

Food production often requires dehumidified air for drying

Dry air for less

Desiccant wheels are expensive to run

A conventional desiccant wheel regenerates at 120 to 150 degrees Celsius, usually with a gas burner, and needs gas piping, a reactivation exhaust duct and a post-cooling coil to work. The energy cost shows up every month, and the installation cost shows up on day one. There are about 1.2 million conventional desiccant wheel systems installed in dry and cold storage facilities operating between 30 and 50 percent relative humidity.

AirJoule Core unit

Lower-temperature regeneration, recovered heat

Core DH uses the AirJoule sorbent, which releases captured moisture at much lower temperatures under vacuum, and recovers the heat of adsorption to drive the process. Head-to-head testing against an incumbent desiccant wheel standard shows significant energy savings across the target humidity range.

Electrical energy demand: AirJoule Core DH 391 MWh per year versus 651 MWh per year for a conventional desiccant wheel, about 40 percent less energy

40,000 sq ft area | 20 ft ceiling | 0.2 ACH infiltration | RH controlled 35–45% | 25 °C indoor | 70% outdoor RH. Energy savings expected to widen as AirJoule prepares for product launch.

Water, not a drain line

The moisture a desiccant wheel removes is vented outside. The moisture Core DH removes leaves as pure distilled water that meets FDA bottled water and California drinking water standards, available for process use or remineralized for drinking.

Where Core DH fits

Dry storage and warehousing. Cold storage and food distribution. Food and beverage processing. Pharmaceuticals and electronics manufacturing. Anti-corrosion environments for equipment and materials storage, including defense applications

Deploying now

Core DH deployments to strategic customers began in the third quarter of 2026, following head-to-head testing against an incumbent desiccant wheel.
